Clifford Chance advises a German syndicate of banks in relation to the financing of a wind farm in southern Ontario, Canada.
The syndicate of lenders consisting of KfW IPEX-Bank and Landesbank Hessen-Thuringen Girozentrale provides debt finance in the form of EUR and CAD facilities for the construction of the Whittington wind farm project.
Project sponsor is wpd europe GmbH, a German corporate that pursues this project via two local subsidiaries in Canada. The installation of the relevant Senvion MM92 turbines is scheduled for summer 2014, while the commissioning of both wind farms with a total capacity of 14.35 MW is scheduled for fall 2014.
