Davis Polk advised Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation in connection with its $1.5 billion Rule 144A/Regulation S debt offering, consisting of $500 million of 1.90% senior bonds due 2015, $500 million of 2.65% senior bonds due 2017 and $500 million of 3.95% senior bonds due 2022. The joint lead managers for the offering were Goldman Sachs International, Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Barclays Bank PLC and J.P. Morgan Securities LLC. SMBC Nikko Securities served as international offering coordinator.
