Herbert Smith advised global energy company Eni on its shareholder and operations agreements with Rosneft, as well as their agreements on parent company guarantees in relation to the joint ventures to develop oil and gas reserves in the Barents and Black Seas. Rosneft and Eni will set up the joint ventures through their subsidiaries. The Barents Sea blocks' possible recoverable resources are estimated at 2 billion tonnes of oil and 1.9 trillion cubic meters of gas. The Black Sea project's recoverable resources are estimated at 1.4 billion tonnes of oil.
