Linklaters advised the dealers in relation to Volkswagen's first placement of EUR 2 billion green bonds. Issued in two tranches, the green bonds comprised a EUR 1.25 billion placement with an eight-year maturity date, and a EUR 750 million offering due in 12 years. The green bond, which was guaranteed by Volkswagen, was issued by Volkswagen International Finance. Volkswagen introduced its Green Finance Framework in March 2020 and this was the first green bond to be implemented under this framework.
