This transaction, which received official approval from the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) on 24 March 2020, gave Morgan Stanley a 51% shareholding in Morgan Stanley Huaxin with effect from 30 April 2020.
Linklaters acted as the international legal advisor to Morgan Stanley, on the negotiation and signing of the transaction documents, the application by Morgan Stanley Huaxin to the CSRC for approval of the change in its controlling shareholder, the application by Morgan Stanley Huaxin to the Shanghai Bureau of the CSRC for filing of its amended articles of association, and on issues relating to the closing of the transaction.
