Linklaters has advised the underwriters Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Halk Yatirim on Emlak Konut's USD1.6 billion secondary public offering, which has announced today. This is not only the largest share offering in Turkey in 2013, it is also the largest primary offering of shares across Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa region this year. It is also the largest share offering in the real estate sector in Europe in more than five years.
Emlak Konut is the largest real estate investment company in Turkey. Its major shareholder is T.C. Basbakanlik Toplu Konut Idares; Baskanligi (TOKI), which operates under the authority of the Turkish Prime Minister to develop the Turkish housing system.
