Slaughter and May advised Telenor ASA in connection with a cash tender offer for its EUR500 million outstanding 4.50% fixed rate notes due 28 March 2014 (the '2014 Notes') issued under its debt issuance programme (the 'Programme') and a related new issue of notes under the Programme. The main purpose of the transaction was to take advantage of favourable market conditions in the debt capital markets to extend Telenor's debt maturity profile. Telenor received valid tenders of EUR242,994,000 in aggregate principal amount of 2014 Notes and accepted all such tendered 2014 Notes for purchase. Telenor also issued EUR600 million in aggregate principal amount of new fixed rate notes paying a coupon of 2.625% per annum and maturing in 2024.
