08 Feb 2018 Credit Agricole - EIB French SMEs Synthetic Securitisation

Credit Agricole - EIB French SMEs Synthetic Securitisation - Credit Agricole completed a synthetic securitisation with the European Investment Bank and its subsidiary the European Investment Fund to provide over EUR1.1bn in new funding for the French SME sector. This is one of the largest disbursements to date under the EU Investment Plan for Europe (Juncker Plan). This underlines the growing importance of securitisation within the mandate of the Juncker Plan to provide new SME financing capacity. The scope is reaching to many parts of the EU - in December, EIB invested in the mezzanine offering of a securitisation by BGZ BNP Paribas in Poland (the largest CEE securitisation to date).
