The CMS Energy team in Prague has successfully acted for EnerCap Power Funds (EPFs) on two recent renewable projects in the Czech Republic.
EPFs are private equity funds focusing on the renewable energy and environmental sectors in Central and Eastern Europe. EPFs have acquired an operating 18 megawatts (MW) wind farm in Horni Lodenice, Czech Republic, from the Austrian utilities BEWAG and Ventureal.
In addition, EPFs has also purchased three solar projects in the Czech Republic totalling 7.2 MW from Green Source, a renewable energy developer from Austria and Parabel, and a solar system integrator from Germany. The three solar projects are at advanced stages of development and are expected to commence construction later this year.
Helen Rodwell, Head of the CEE Corporate practice led on the deal, with support from Lukas Janicek and Radim Kotlaba. Banking and Finance partner Alex Doughty, and associates Laurence Coman, Mirek Kovar and Iva Baranova acted for EnerCap on the financing of the solar parks.
