Linklaters advised Q-Cells on realising a 28 MWp solar power plant near Halle in the German Federal State of Saxony-Anhalt. The solar farm, which is intended to supply about 8,000 households p.a. with electricity from renewable energy sources, is a joint project of Q-Cells and GETEC green energy AG, a company of the GETEC Group.
Q-Cells acted as a so-called EPC contractor for the solar farm after GETEC green energy AG had launched the project together with Romonta AG. This type of project execution includes the planning, procurement and building of the photovoltaic facility.
The solar park will cover an area of 55 ha and is scheduled for completion in April 2012. In the future, round about 15,000 tons of CO2 emissions shall be prevented by energy generated by the power plant. The plant operator is GERO, a joint venture of GETEC and Romonta.
